HOW TO ENTER:

Your submission

Your company name

Your name and job title

Your contact telephone number and email address

The name of the product/service

ENTRY SUBMISSION:

Each category will be independently judged by a panel of experts. Categories need to receive a minimum of three entries to run.

INDIVIDUAL AWARD FOR INDUSTRY CHAMPION:

Pensions Expert will be giving an individual award to someone who made a special contribution to the industry in the past year, championed the cause of schemes and their members, or pushed forward the public discourse. You may nominate yourself or someone else in the industry, giving examples and arguments as to why you/they deserve the award. The panel of judges, led by the editorial team, will determine the winner.

PROVIDER AWARDS CRITERIA:

The three criteria are:

1. Performance

Maximum of 400 words plus brief tables.

For investment categories: Performance must be shown as one, three and five-year annualised returns, net of fees, to end-2016 and results since inception. A benchmark must also be provided for the judges and all results should be presented in the base currency for the strategy, stating whether it is hedged or unhedged.

All figures should also clearly show if they are from composite data (and if so, what the data are) or individual fund performance.

For the “passive global equities” category, entrants should include the total expense ratio of the chosen fund, the tracking error, and the range of strategies available.

You should also include a few words about retention/key people running the strategy.

For services categories: Performance can be indicated through client wins, the solving of problems and performance delivery for your clients.

2. Innovation

Maximum of 400 words.

How have you innovated over the past year? What new services or options have you introduced to improve the performance of your clients’ pension schemes, to save them money or to reduce their risk?

For investment categories: Entrants should state where they believe their product stands out, e.g. at the idea generation or the trading/implementation stage.

3. Service

Maximum of 400 words.

How does your service to clients differ from your competitors - what makes it unique? Case studies and client feedback can be used to illustrate improved service standards.

For investment categories: This section can include references to transparency for investors.

Methodology

Pension And Investment Provider Awards Judging Methodology

Format: A panel of judges are picked by the editorial team based on their expertise within the industry, reflecting a spread of companies and groups.

There is a minimum of 10 judges including at least two from the editorial staff. Each category has at least two judges leading the other judges through the entries to test against the criteria.

Conflicts: Any judge that either comes from a company/organisation that has entered, or has competitors that have entered, a particular category must exclude themselves from the judging of that category.

Methodology: Once each lead judge has explained their top three, and other judges have fed in their views, the panel as a whole debates the entries and decides the shortlist and the winner.

All judging is done on the basis of criteria, but judges are allowed to take into account their own experience of entrants’ products and services.

For the Industry Champion award, the winner will be decided by the judges based on the submissions received, led by the Pensions Expert editorial team.

This debate will focus on the work done in the interest of savers, schemes or providers by the individual concerned.
