The FT/IFC Transformational Business Conference and Awards Dinner in London, originally scheduled for 16 June, has been postponed to 8 October 2020, and will now be a virtual event.
The Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, will gather senior investors, innovators, social entrepreneurs and other thought leaders for a major online event that will combine the announcement of the winners and runners-up of the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards with cutting-edge content on the unprecedented social and economic challenges facing the developing world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The awards will honour those whose capital, technology and ideas are contributing to substantive progress in developing low-carbon urban infrastructure, delivering healthcare and education, assuring food and water security, boosting inclusion, and generally transforming the development landscape.
This year also marks 15 years of collaboration on these awards, which have had a substantial impact on the way financial and non-financial organisations approach sustainable investment. This year's free-to-attend event will reflect this milestone and look ahead to the next decade with agenda-setting discussions on the future of capitalism, the evolution of development finance, the growth of impact investing, the power of disruptive technology to achieve the SDGs at scale, and the ways in which entrepreneurs and investors are responding to the current crisis and building resilience for the challenges still to come.
