Building Thailand’s AI Advantage

Turning Thailand’s AI Ambition into Business Value
Thailand is entering a decisive phase in its AI development. The country’s national strategy places infrastructure, human capability, innovation and adoption at the centre of its ambitions, while investment in data centres, cloud capacity and in-country computing is expanding the technology base available to local organisations. The question for business leaders is how to turn that ambition into services, operating capability and new sources of growth.
The opportunity is significant, but realising it will depend on the foundations businesses put in place now. UNESCO’s 2025 AI Readiness Assessment found that 18 per cent of Thai firms were already using AI, while estimating a shortage of 80,000 AI professionals. Converting that appetite into business value will require organisations to strengthen engineering skills, data foundations, governance and back-end architecture, while making strategic choices about what should be built locally, where to draw on external expertise, and how to balance control, cost and speed.
This event, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with Cognizant, will bring together senior leaders from Thailand’s most dynamic sectors to examine what it will take to convert the current investment cycle into practical business value. The conversation will explore what Thailand can learn from other markets, and how decisions around talent, technology, partnerships and operating models will determine the next phase of adoption.
