Asia’s investors are stress-testing their portfolios for ongoing geopolitical disruption. Some wealth managers’ clients are reassessing their exposure to US equities and the dollar, while others are turning to gold and critical commodities, and hunting for overlooked opportunities across Asian markets. For all, the AI boom remains a source of potential returns, but also risk, as mounting debt, geopolitical barriers, and dot-com bubble comparisons are testing market sentiment.

AI presents a challenge within private banks and wealth managers, too: to demonstrate the value of human advice, and to overhaul their technology and operating models. It only adds to the competitive pressures being felt within the industry, with external asset managers already fighting for scale, Hong Kong and Singapore vying with each other for capital, and firms finding their client bases reshaped by a new generation of Asian entrepreneurs.

Now in its fifth year, the Wealth Management Summit Asia — FT Live and PWM’s regional gathering of private banks, family offices, and wealth managers — will address these issues, and more. Across two days of panel discussions, debates, and interactive sessions, delegates will hear how chief investment officers are uncovering value in a range of asset classes, where private markets are rewarding clients for illiquidity, and how wealth managers are remaining relevant in the age of AI. They will also learn how family principals and advisers are managing greater cross-border complexity, increasingly sophisticated family capital structures, and the perennial tasks of governance and succession planning.
